Hay everyone how is everyone?, anywho this is my interpretation of the song Viv la Vida because it got me thinking ive read on the internet that its about jesus and other people but my self i think it has a different person that is talked about, also id like to hear your interpretation of this song if you'd like to share.

------------

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sweep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

in this first part i think the nameless king rule the world with a Iron fist and his word was law and he had people to make sure it was, but he was betrayed and he endure alot of things people didnt know about.

---------

I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemies' eyes
Listened as the crowd would sing
Now the old king is dead, long live the king
One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

The Nameless king use to gamble with his power that he had and he knew people fear him for it, and his people loved his protection that he gives them after he took the throne after his farther/mother passed away and he had everything he wanted in his hands but he felt like he was alone and everyone was going agenst him and he found out that his kingdom was weak dispite the power(man?,weapon?) it had.

-----------

I hear Jerusalem bells ringing
Roman cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
Once you'd gone there was never
Never an honest word
And that was when I ruled the world

I think my self the king turned to religion and he sount them in jerusalem and i guess he found it, so he sent out his missionaries to pass the word to other foreign countrys, but they didnt tke ther word because it they didnt want to convert.

------------

It was a wicked and wild wind
Blew down the doors to let me in
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
People couldn't believe what I'd become
Revolutionaries wait
For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string
Oh, who would ever want to be king?

at this point the king became upset due to people not taking his word and so he went to war and he was unforgiving and people didnt like what he became so other countrys leadr wanted him dead and his head brount to them, also around this time i think the king is regreting ever being king in the frist place.

----------
ive only interpret only one line from this next part due to it repeating but i will still put all of the lyrics down.

I hear Jerusalem bells a-ringing
Roman cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
I know St Peter won't call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world

I hear Jerusalem bells a-ringing
Roman cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
I know St Peter won't call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world

I think what he ment by "I know St Peter won't call my name" is once he dies he wont go to heaven because all the things bad things he as done while he was king and the king recalls all what happen and he regrets what he has done.

well thats my interpretation, of Viva la Vida, i think im just overly thinking about this song, also i dont know why it got me so intrested in the first place to tell the truth. Anyways please befree to post what you think.

Personally, I tend not to look too deeply at the lyrics of songs I enjoy, like Viva La Vida, for fear of ruining my enjoyment of them. Laughing
