Well Jana...I know you've said you're not much of a futball fan, but your countryman Smicer scored one of the goals of the year as Liverpool staged the greatest comeback in Champions League history. Winner's medals for both Smicer and Baros...there must be something in the water over there in the Czech Republic...they're winning everything right now. Jana...are you perhaps representing the Czech Rep in the Miss Universe contest or something...let me know if you are...I'll go place a huge bet on you Laughing

Actually...I'll be betting on whoever represents Czech...although by all rights it should be our beautiful Jana. You Czech's need to stop being greedy with all the trophy's though...when are my bravehearts from Scotland ever going to win anything??...besides maybe curling?

well this reply is about six months or so too late, but I was just reading through this thread now, and I too found it very humourous to find a beautiful babe talking hockey. Being from canada, this is sort of my fantasy too.

as for calvert's comments about being annoyed by the canadian attitude towards hockey, wel, i can relate. Canadians do feel that they own hockey, though of cousre they do come by that attitude honestly.

when i was growing up, hockey was a pretty universal canadian obsession. in grade school my freinds and i collected hockey cards. one of the first books i owned was a hockey instruction book by Bobby Orr. At that time, practically all the NHL players were canadian. I had a rink in my back yard. I learned to skate when i was 3. my dad coached my hockey team when i was 6. every saturday night , no matter what, every thing stopped at 7 pm for hockey night in canada. when my parents had parties, all the men were in one room watching the game until it was over. only the really pussy whipped guys hung out with the wives. I played street hockey with my buddies for like 8 hour stretches all the time when i was a kid .
so, you know, in a sense, we do own hockey, in the same way that gusy in small towns in texas own football.
but the thing is, i'm actually not such a big hockey fan anymore- actually , I'm sort of on the artsy side and most times I'd rather read a good book than watch hockey. but, nonetheless, yeah canadians can be kind of obnoxious about hockey and also, its just nice to see that someone outside of canada even cares.

plus , lets face it , the chechs and the russians, and yes, even the americans are pretty good at the game now-- expecially the chechs, like what's up with that? it's such a small country. how do they produce so many great players?

oh and another thing, how is it that canadians are so nice and polite and passive and everything, but on the ice are a bunch of pyschopathic goons? weird eh?

so, seeing as how your a fairly famous chech, do you get to hang out with other famous chech folks, and if you do, have you considered hooking up with any big time chech hockey players? talk about a perfect match, eh? ( I'm canadian , have you noticed? the eh sort of gives it away, eh?) whose your fave chech hockey player. of course hasek and jager, but any others?
do you ever go to see any Kings games?

if you come to toronto, give me a ring and i'll take you to a leafs game. and I promise to be a perfect gentleman. now that's adate i could deal with.

i'm also glad you like the fighting ..heck that's what most people in canada watch the games for!!
