Apparentlly after only a couple of short years, the next gen of Pokemon are already here. Needless to say, at least one of the starters looks interesting to say the least. A frog, a fox and.......some kind of ferret.

Honestly, the X and Y makes sense. Since this is the first full 3d game for the series, as X and Y are two dimensions that make it. In about a year or two later, the Z version will come out and it will have truly become 3d because that is the dimension the makes it jump out at you.

I just hope the other pokemon introduced won't be as mundane or as dull as White and Black's. Don't get me wrong, some of their pokemon were'nt bad, but seriously, Icecream cones and trashbags?

They could have easily turned to the fans though if they were. I've seen youtube movies where people made awesome variations. Hell, gamefreak held contests where they chose the best one to add to their lineup, though I heard that they did'nt really followthrough with add them.

Honestly, the game was at its peak for me at the original gold and silver (though the Heart and Soul version improved it)

Agreed. There was so much to do Gold and Silver. Expanding upon the Jhoto regian by including Kanto really made it feel like a sequel and made the 2nd gen all that more special.

And the only generation that added any new types of pokemon. I still believe that Light could be added to the mix. No matter what people think, Psychic is not light or any kind of solar energy and is a valid one to add since they have dark added.

Well, they might add a new type to the 6th gen.... they also might add some crap pokemon like... a chair or something. But Light type would definitely fit. Good against Dark and Psychic. Weak against Ghost and something else. It could work, and would open up a new door for new, creative pokemon.

It might also be another weakness for fighting types since they are by far the most horribly OP'd pokemon type out of all the other types. They have the most weaknesses to exploit, and they have fewer types that they are weak against, along with a bunch of resistances.
